Возвращение/ Recovery, 2016
To understand better my identity, I've decided to explore the place where I grew up.
I was born in the 80s and raised in one of the oldest industrial areas of Kyiv, full of Khrushchev style buildings. Being a child, I spent a lot of time on the streets, because my parents were working all the time. For me was very interesting to explore street life, but at that time that was not safe for a child.
Our small neighborhood was a few houses surrounded by a huge industrial zone with plants and different types of manufacturing. This industrial zone and all areas around were a playground for me and my friends.
... In my photo project, I observe the current state of the places that used to be my ordinary landscape when I was a child. Places where I grew up and pieces of my childhood.
Childhood in the 90s during the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the biggest country in the world, and at the same time in a newborn country with an undefined future.
